Flowers'09

2009-03-28:   It's Spring!!! I'm amazed! The two week forecast calls for nothing below 31°, with daytime highs ranging 49-60°, and my spring seedlings are hardened and ready!

Coleus & Snapdragons & Lettuce

Around August 20th, I planted coleus and snapdragons in a Park Starts block, set between my minis. These plugs are similar to the AG3/6 bound-peat sponges, and work as replacement sponges. At that time (and maybe still not in stock at this time), there was no such thing as a Master Gardener kit for the mini.

Fun with reflective blankets

Other members had mentioned this, but I'd never tried it until today :  using shiny emergency blanket material around the AG to reflect light back onto the plants. I decided to try it, not for the AG's per se, but to try to make the most of my western exposure sliding glass door in my bedroom, to see if my potted pepper might eek out a life indoors.
