Sorry to hear that, adriang. I've never grown strawberries from seed, but it does sound like an awfully long time. Maybe you could contact the company you bought the seeds from?

This time of year, you can buy strawberry roots in most garden centers. Might be better to just try that? Sort of sandwich a twiggy plant into a sponge/pod, and let it grow?

P.S. Adriang - have you seen stonecold's strawberry thread?

 Hey A

what kind of strawberry seeds are they? I tried ones form Buzzy seed a few years ago and they sprouted from the the freezer - weird instructions but what do I know lol. Mine were doing well indoors until gnats laid larvae in the pots which made my skin crawl and I tossed them.

If im not mistaken dont they take 3 years to give fruit.

If you can and you are growing outside, getting roots as was suggested is the way to go.

Hi adriang,

I grew strawberries from seed some years ago in the AG - have a look here.

After two weeks you should have some shoots coming up, after seven then some nice stocky growth. I got strawberries in my first year, not many as the plant is still establishing itself - subsequent years will see your harvest increase.
