Warmer shouldn't hurt - I'm sure you don't keep your house so warm in November that it's a problem. So, I think you should be brave and scientific and eat half the greens in half the pods at home. 
Joking aside, sure sounds like crowding is the issue. Although... This may just the the pictures, but are your greens at work redder? It's been my experience that red-leaved-things are redder in stronger-better light. My KRC lettuce outdoors is pure red, but indoors kinda red at brightly lit edges, or with 2 AG bulbs instead of 3, barely a vague blush. Can almost use them as light meters.
