Hi All,
Well, my new big dwarf tomatoes are growing great, just about to flower. I've been using the ag nutes - 2 bloom (big) tablets and a supplemental small tablet this week when I measured an EC of 1.3! Got it back to 1.7. So, should I continue on the ag tablets or switch to flora?? What would you do? I have a boatload of tablets. I'm afraid I put the system out of whack if I keep adding more and more tablets.
Thanks,
Beth
Peat,
At day 39, with flowers, what level flora would you suggest? Does it "shock" the plant if I suddenly increase EC? That's mostly what I'm afraid of.
Thanks,
Beth
Hmm, that puts you just out of the growth stage and into transition. As you are already feeding them a bloom type nute, I think it's best not to revert back to the transition stage.
So, feed them on the bloom stage, but, water down the flora to give you an EC of 1.7. This will be the same EC as you have now and stop the shock to the plants. You can then increase the EC slowly if you think the plants are wanting more.
Are you able to get yourself a 'Grow Log' and put some pictures up yet? You can then keep all your pictures in one place under you name.
I wouldn't mind seeing your tomatoes as they are something different from the AG cherry ones.
Just ask if you want help setting up a Grow Log, Beth, but it's pretty simple. Go to Grow Logs (it's on the top nav bar). Add Child Page "Beth's Grow Logs". On that new page, Add Child Page "New Big Dwarf Tomatoes" or whatever, for each project you want to log.
We tend to use the grow logs more than the forums.
P.S. After there exists a "Beth's Grow Logs", you can also take any topics you've already started and add them. That's what the "Outline" link at the top of a page is for. But I could do that for you, if you're willing.

Personally, would dump the whole water and switch over to the appropriate flora mix - your toms look to be using up all the AG nutes, give them something to chew on with the flora.
However, if you want to use your tablets, and the plant is growing fine, then stay as you are.
I've covered both angles now.
