Hi All,
For your viewing pleasure. I got the out of control strawberry pyramid back in shape. We'll see if the bird netting keeps out the critters. I'm sure I'll end up jury rigging chicken wire around the thing. We'll see.
Blueberry patch in full bloom. 12 and a half plants - one got stepped on (not me!) while servicing the weather station. Got about 20 lbs of blues last year!
And the first asparagus. More out there, but covered in asparagus beetle eggs. I actually took the day off tomorrow to get the situation under control. I'm organic by choice but I'm not going to let the bugs take hold. All buggy spears are being clipped, bagged and trashed and Pyrethrin sprayed. Every day if necessary.
Enjoy!
Beth

Yum.
Yum the asparagus or the beetle?
It's a very... colorful beetle. So many beetles are... Blech.

Gorgeous, Beth!
When I think I want a house next, with a garden, that's why. I'd love to plant berries and asparagus... Though raspberries are my particular passion. Strawberries and blueberries are good, too.
And eating asparagus simply makes me happy. I've never heard a good explanation for that biochemical quirk.
Best of luck winning the battle for your asparagus!
