Lettuce Vivian

Posted in

I love romaine lettuce. It is my favorite of all kinds and next comes Bibb. Now I will have the best of both worlds with Lettuce Vivian. It is a heat tolerant lettuce, described as having the sweetness of romaine and the texture of Bibb. It takes 70 days to mature but hopefully worth the wait!

What's the spacing on this "huge romaine type"? It sounds good!

8 inches! I planted like 10 seeds in 1 pot... definitely going to have to thin these!

This is great jessi, you now have more plants than my local garden centre.  Another one to look forward to.

What's the other plant in there? Maybe it's just a trick of the photo, but the bottom plant there sure doesn't look like a lettuce.

Its all Lettuce Vivian, at least to my knowledge. Maybe they slipped something else into the seed pack.  Only time will tell.

How long are you going to keep the not-lettuce? It looks kinda like a pepper plant, though can't really tell at that angle.

I dont know! Its so odd!

It sprung up before all the other seedlings. It has a reddish stem but absolutely no odor. I don't know what the heck it is. I guess I should think about transplanting it soon huh?
