Herb Garden 1 [Planted 6/15/2015]

Tags:

Hi Folks,

This is the first of the three gardens I currently have growing on Ultra LED's. This garden consists of three dill pods, two cilantro pods and two chives pods. As you can see from the photo, only the chives aren't over the labels, yet, however they are starting to show some life. These are all AG pods.

Your dill has been so

Your dill has been so prolific for such young plants!  Good thing Corinne shared that microwave video.  Extremely useful when you have such a bounty.  When I return home I need to harvest a slew of genovese and lemon basil to keep the plants going and producing well.  Before her video I would've made more basil sauce for the freezer, but I already have a ton in the freezer!  I'm looking forward to drying them like you have.

Here's a nice little harvest

Here's a nice little harvest of dill from this garden. It dried nicely, too.

I lost a cilantro plant on

I lost a cilantro plant on Tuesday. It was 90° on Monday and Tuesday. The other one is hanging in there. The dill is doing well. I need to harvest and dry some more tonight to give more light to the remaining cilantro plant.

I already have a pint jar

I already have a pint jar pretty well packed with dried dill. I've been using the cilantro rather sparingly, but not for long. The parsley never did much, and the savory was a complete no-go. The cilantro and dill make this garden a great success.

Yes, I also find my dehydrator to be useless for herbs. Corinne posted the following video on her site that I find very useful.

Oh, cool, Mike, I'm glad you

Oh, cool, Mike, I'm glad you mentioned the microwave herb drying method. I have a dehydrator, but it always seemed like too much effort for too little gain. Found this article from what you said - sounds great!

My AeroGarden Gourmet Herb

WOW that Dill looks so delicious! Amazing :)

My AeroGarden Gourmet Herb kit is growing fast too but it's been now 15 days and no sign from Chives... On the label it says 8-21 days so I'm still waiting but I don't have big hopes for them :)

Look at that Dill! The Cilantro is doing great, too. But the Dill is going crazy. Even the Parsley and Savory are about to crest the label, and they are less than two weeks old. The Dill and Cilantro are 21 days old. The other two are about 12 or 13 days.
