A few questions

Hello all! I have been growing the herb pods in my Aerogarden for about three months now. Everything was going swimmingly until recently, when my dill died somewhat suddenly. I gave it some time but it did not show any signs of coming back to life, so I removed it.

I was wondering:
Could I immediately put a new pod in or should I wait until I replace all of them? My fear is that the new pod would not get sufficient light since the light panel is almost at the max height right now.

Also, when taking the dead dill out I noticed some white mold (or at least it looked like mold) growing around the base of the stems. Is this normal? I noticed some on my thyme, too, so I hope it is not very harmful.
And speaking of thyme, how tall/wide does it usually grow? I know it says it's short, but I feel like it should be bushier than it is currently.

Thanks!

Right, the replacement pod

Right, the replacement pod usually won't thrive.
