Experiments - Pepperoncini from Seeds I Saved Myself
I love Pepperoncinis in my salads and sandwiches! I looked for seeds online today and didn't find any so I thought I would try to grow some from fresh seeds (from the peppers in my lunch). I follow these instructions and will plant them when I get potting mix (this Friday).

First I washed and seeded the peppers & seeds in a strainer. Some where easy to separate, some not so much.
Then I put the seeds in a cup of water to see how many would float and how many would sink. (supposedly thats the test of whether the seeds will germinate. In theory, floaters won't & sinkers will but the theory is up for debate).
Next I poured the seeds into a paper towel to draw as much moisture away from them as I could.
Then I took a tweezer and carefully placed each seed on a glass plate in a single layer and placed the plate in between my two Aerogarden 3s to dry for 1 hour.

After an hour they had shrunk and I did the test to see if they were dry enough.
I cracked 1 in half and it cracked easily.

Then I put them in a brown paper bag to plant on Friday

I wasn't really happy with the thinnest of the seeds I got from the last pepperoncino experiment so I decided to try another from a larger pepper I had in the freezer. I have no idea if they will germinatio
I thawed the Pepperonci

I also put a few in a cup of Miracle grow

I wonder which if any will sprout!

Pepperoncini planted today
Will it grow? I hope so!
