Been growing herbs 2 months, question about roots

Hi there,

I was just cleaning out my water reservoir and I noticed how tangled the roots are. I'm concered this might hinder growth. Especially since my dill doesn't look too good - it's leggy and flopped over and it seems the other root systems are pulling on it pretty hard.

Should I do some root detangling and cutting or just leave them alone?

I'm pretty sure that's three

I'm pretty sure that's three plants, duking it out. Should be healthier with only one. And be real sure you have only one parsley and one basil - those are space hogs.

You shouldn't cut any of the

You shouldn't cut any of the the main stems if it's all one plant. I just couldn't tell from the picture whether it was one plant or three.

I have so much to eat I can

I have so much to eat I can barely keep up. I use paper bags for drying some of the herbs.

The dill has three main stems. Should I cut the two weakest ones?

I think the dill looks fine,

I think the dill looks fine, but it's being pushed around by other herbs - is that parsley? Eat some. smiley

I can't tell from this picture. Is there only 1 dill plant, or several? I would cut back to 1 plant in each hole.

Ok I will leave the roots

Ok I will leave the roots alone.

I'm not sure what to do with my dill, though. It's not looking too good. (hopefully you can view the pic I uploaded)

Hi, LilaMae, welcome!

Hi, LilaMae, welcome!

I would leave the roots alone, and see if I could do something on the leaf end, to give the dill more light. And dump and refill the reservoir with fresh water and fresh nutrients.
