Has anyone here ever grown mushrooms? I keep getting tempted by Park's mushroom growing kit. But it seemed expensive, so I looked around for other possibilities. The Supreme Mushroom Growing Kit had me really intrigued. 
And there are places you can buy spores...
Perhaps the basic mushroom growing kit wouldn't be a bad place to start. Sure would be nice if I could get them producing shrooms indefinitely...
I think this is going to end up being one of those Christmas gift concepts again, like the first Aerogarden was. One for you and one for me...

Yes, I've grown many 'shrooms from kits. Usually ask for one for Christmas. Didn't this year because I'm overwhelmed with leftover dried 'shrooms. They are fun to grow. Only drawback is a chance of fungus gnats from the kit. Happened once out of 5 years I grew. Be prepared to eat lots of 'shrooms at once if you don't plan on drying them. I did try a shitake log once with not good results. Probably me. I do want to do the outside shitake log growing thing - I have woods - but deer apparently love shitake mushrooms.
