I'm really enjoying the summer crisp lettuce - so replanted 2 AGs in it. It stays very compact, preferring to form a small head, but you can eat the outer leaves. Stays crisp in winter dry air.

Happy plants. Heavily
Happy plants. Heavily harvested the mustards for a stir fry after this photo. I usually grow mustards as harvest-once, but if you want to eat big leaves, cut and come again seems to work OK. Big leaves are better stir-fried than for fresh eating, imo.

8 week mustard and senposai, 22 week mims

The kitchen pro100 is going to rejoin the greens group next week - replanted it with green onion and toy choi today. So, this is the end of the "2013" log.

The white mims are back. May
The white mims are back. May have seen a yellow this week too, but it might have been a faded orange. These flowered like crazy during the week - I need to take pictures 2-3 days after feeding them for fullest glory. The mustard and senposai are doing fairly well as cut-and-come-again. But the adult leaves get huge relative to younger leaves, so it doesn't work as well as with lettuce. That's OK. They're good in stir-fry as a grace note to cheap cabbage.

I look forward to seeing them, Corinne! I wasn't expecting it, but my mystic mix has both small and maximus sized mims - yellow and pink maximus have shown up so far. The different sizes look nice together.

Greens still producing
Greens still producing nicely, but I forgot to take a picture. The mims are feeling better. I think they're down to 3 or 4 plants now - haven't seen a clear yellow or white-red-blotch bloom lately. Surprisingly long-lived flowers, considering how fast they bloomed, and how random I've been with the plant care.

20 week mims look happier - down to 3 or 4 plants now (no clear yellow or white-red-blotch anymore)

Mustard and senposai grew
Mustard and senposai grew back and then some. The mims look a bit peaked. Tried mixing some lettuce-formula nutes with the bloom-formula nutes this week, and the blooms perked up (this photo was yesterday). Maybe they just need a nute top-up, not just water, in mid week. Maybe I should remove 3 of the 6 plants from the too-small reservoir. But that's hard to do.

5 week mustard and senposai grew back, 19 week mims look tired

Harvested mustard and
Harvested mustard and senposai today for stir-fry - age 4 weeks. We'll see if the mustard regrows. (Only took a couple leaves from the senposai.) No mimulus photo this time.
